Hey Kieran,

Great list, specially #1. Competitive analysis online is one tough topic to address, because they all seem unique in their own way. For example: does Mashable have a competition? Is Techcrunch part of it? hard to define where they compete and where they dont.

But hey, great content. And nice use of the RETWEET SNIPPET!

Hey David

Thanks for stopping by and posting such great feedback. I would totally agree you could probably rank a flash site above a text, I know you guys and know you are good :)

I know Google is expanding it's indexing of flash sites. I do however still feels flash restricts you in terms copy + internal links.

Maybe I was a little harsh flash !!!

Thanks again

Not sure I totally agree with the no-flash rule - I hear what you are saying but we've recently seen Google become quite good at indexing flash content. I don't think flash only - or worse, image + text-in-image only - sites work but I think Flash is getting a bit beat up - its like the rule is black-n-white, which it isn't.

I wouldn't discourage flash at all, and I bet I could rank a flash only site over a text site - as I dont think text on-site helps towards ranking (in fact I can prove it) - so, my point is - there is nothing wrong with flash on websites at all - lets not end up with a blanket ban. Flash, per se, isn't bad for SEO.

Cheers Ed,

I couldn't agree more with you on that point. Great content is always the best "link strategy". I just think most people would rather believe their is a secret formula to link building that doesn't involve as much work !!
